PT Austin Engineering Indonesia dibangun pada tahun 2011. Dengan investasi aset bangunan dan pabrik sebesar AUD 23 juta di atas lahan 3,5 ha. Dalam menjalankan operasinya Austin Engineering beralamat di Kawasan Industri Terpadu Kabil, Jalan Mas Surya Blok B No.2, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau.

PT Austin Engineering merupakan anak perusahaan dari Austin Engineering Pte, Ltd, yang berkantor pusat di Carole Park Industrial Estate, Brisbane, Australia. PT Austin Engineering Indonesia merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur pembuatan alat berat yang terdiri dari proses fabrikasi dan perakitan/assembly. Produk yang di hasilkan PT Austin Engineering antara lain, seperti: body dump truck, bucket, power train, gear case dan belly dumper. Dari sekian banyak produk yang di hasilkan oleh PT Austin Engineering Indonesia, body dump truck merupakan produk yang secara regular diproduksi, hal ini dikarenakan orderan yang cukup tinggi terhadap produk ini.
Proses fabrikasi body dump truck di PT. Austin Engineering Indonesia meliputi proses cutting, bending, fit up dan welding, selanjutnya akan di lakukan proses assembly atau perakitan, painting dan finishing.
The Welding Engineer will oversee welding operations in metal fabrication, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient production processes. This includes developing welding procedures, supervising quality control, leading welding teams (Welder etc), and driving innovation. The role requires strong technical expertise, close collaboration with engineering teams and provide training, address non-conformance issues, and ensure full compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding Techniques & Procedure Development: Develop and implement welding procedures based on engineering principles and material properties, ensuring optimal methods and equipment selection for metal fabrication.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Oversee quality control procedures to ensure welding operations meet international standards and client requirements, providing ongoing technical guidance to ensure consistent quality.
- Welding Process Innovation: Evaluate and recommend new welding technologies/process, materials, and techniques to improve production processes, ensuring alignment with industry trends and operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and coordinate a team of engineers, quality inspectors, and NDT specialists, ensuring welding processes comply with international codes and project specifications.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with engineering teams, external agencies, and clients, providing technical advice and ensuring alignment on welding-related solutions.
- Experimental Projects: Lead experimental welding projects to test new equipment and materials, integrating successful innovations into production processes.
- Procurement & Material Management: Oversee the selection and procurement of welding materials and equipment, ensuring they meet quality standards and production needs.
- Repair Analysis & Process Improvement: Analyse high-weld repairs, recommend improvements, and develop strategies to reduce failure/rework rates.
- Training & Development: Provide training to welders on company procedures, new technologies, and safety standards, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Production Compliance: Participate in quality control meetings to ensure compliance with company standards and project-specific requirements.
- Quality Plan Adherence: Supervise welding and NDT inspectors to ensure adherence to Project Quality Plans (PQPs) and ensure proper documentation of quality processes.
- Raw Material Inspection & Control: Oversee inspection, marking, and identification of raw materials to ensure they meet required quality standards.
- Inventory & Failure Analysis: Support inventory management and failure analysis efforts, contributing to corrective actions and process improvements.
- Non-Conformance Management: Ensure non-conforming products are identified, controlled, and investigated, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must hold Welding Engineer Certification (IWE/SWE Certified).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication, offshore/onshore, or 3 years in a similar role with welding, NDT, Mechanical test, structural fabrication, Pipe fabrication, assembly, and flange management (coatings experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of materials properties and welding techniques for heavy fabrication.
- In-depth knowledge of International Codes and Standards for welding (AS/NZS, ASME, AWS etc)
- Experience in writing procedures, reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong manufacturing background, ideally in plate fabrication or mining equipment manufacturing.
- Good knowledge on Welder qualification, maintaining welder register and focus on understanding on which WPS/PQR use during fabrication process
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
- Proficiency in English & Bahasa Indonesia (verbal and written fluency is mandatory).
- Experience in heavy manufacturing or steel fabrication preferred, Resident Citizen, priority given to applicants from Batam
